What this tool covers
The EHCP deadline tracker works out the statutory deadlines in the EHC process from the dates you enter, across three stages: the initial EHC needs assessment (the 6-week decision to assess, the 16-week decision to issue a plan, and the 20-week final plan), the annual review of an existing plan, and an appeal to the SEND Tribunal. It flags any deadline that has passed, explains what should happen at each stage with its legal basis, and on overdue council deadlines it can generate a template chase letter. Everything is calculated in your browser, and the dates you enter are never sent to us. It applies in England.
